I fly a lot, and when I do I always select a window seat. I love window seats. I’m a map nut and to me, looking out the window and seeing roads, towns, and geographical features is like being in a living map.
I also love the beauty of clouds, a love that was cultivated by my father who used to encourage us to “emote” when we saw beautiful clouds. He taught me that the sky is never boring. So if you happen to see me on a flight I will be staring out the window, enjoying the beauty of the clouds.
Here are a few photos I’ve taken recently of the “never boring” sky.

With the proliferation of screens on airplanes, most people sitting by the windows don’t even bother to raise the shades. I find that rather depressing and find myself wanting to shout, “Come on people, open the shades!” Look at what you’re missing.
So the next time you are on a plane, grab a window seat and watch the sky. You will never be bored!
