My last trip anywhere was in February to ski in Montana. Then COVID hit, and like so many others I was grounded, so to speak. I think this past six months has been the longest stretch I have gone without traveling since college. Maybe even high school! Thankfully, that stretch has now ended.
A few weeks ago I was talking with a former China teammate and we were lamenting how we missed traveling and were tired of being cooped up (me in Minnesota, she in Nebraska). By the time we hung up we had planned a road trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We met up in Spearfish, SD where she left her car. On Saturday we had a fabulous drive across Wyoming, with a stop at Devil’s Tower.

Earlier this summer I said a good-bye (sniff sniff) to Big Red, my trusty road trip vehicle for the past 8 years and traded her in for Silver Shadow. I miss Big Red, but this is also a fantastic road trip car! (She’s the size of a small European nation!)
