Eating on a road trip in the era of Covid provides its own level of adventure. Fast food drive-through is always an option, and I must admit we’ve done that once when we were speeding across Wyoming on Saturday.
Fortunately we’ve had great weather so have been able to eat outside at local eateries, one of which was an old school bus in West Yellowstone (fantastic food).

Hotels that normally serve hot breakfasts have had to make adjustments. We can’t have people crowding around jostling one another for a turn at the automatic pancake making machine! Our current hotel in Jackson, WY has simply discontinued service, which isn’t a problem since there are numerous breakfast options within blocks.
The place we were at the past two nights was kind of out in the boonies, however, so their solution was to provide us each with a sack breakfast, complete with juice, yoghurt, fruit, muffin, and a small microwavable delight. Yesterday morning it was a breakfast burrito, and this morning it was this:

In case it’s hard for you to read, here is what it says:
BREAKFAST STICK. PANCAKE BATTER WRAPPED PRECOOKED TURKEY & VEGETABLE PROTEIN PRODUCT LINK ON A STICK.
I was not impressed, but my travel companion ate hers up and announced that she was going to look for them at Walmart.
Move over, Minnesota State Fair. You’ve got competition!
