Last week my sister and I drove some friends visiting from England up to Lutsen, a ski resort on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We had heard the fall colors were peaking up there, so even though there were no hotel vacancies in the areas, and the RT drive would be close to 500 miles, we decided to turn it into a very long day trip. As you can see from these photos, it was worth the drive.

It WAS worth the trip. Thanks for posting.
here in oregon, we are almost there. drove to redmond and back this weekend, and your mom will attest to the beauty here as well. we have more firs and pines over the mckenzie pass, but still lots of maples and vine maples. deep reds popping out of the lava fields like they were on fire. we even went to a football game at bend high, which, at least dad graduated from. thanks for sharing, cousins!
we are hoping to see that place for ourselves one year! we went over our mountains last weekend to see jill, and were treated to a colorful, albeit fir-ier scene at well. always my favorite time of the year.
