Good news: Gracie was able to leave the transitional care unit and return home on Wednesday. She is so happy. She continues to get stronger, but still has a ways to go. Unfortunately, she’s not yet up to recording any piano playing, so this is a re-run from last March. She thanks you for her prayers.
Gracie’s hymns for this Sabbath: Just As I Am Without One Plea; Pass Me Not; and T’is So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.
Lyrics (via hymnary.org):
JUST AS I AM WITHOUT ONE PLEA, by Charlotte Elliot
1 Just as I am, without one plea,
but that thy blood was shed for me,
and that thou bidd’st me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
2 Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
3 Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
4 Just as I am, thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
because thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
PASS ME NOT, by Fanny Crosby
1 Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry,
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Refrain:
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
2 Let me at a throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief. [Refrain]
3 Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace. [Refrain]
4 Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heav’n but Thee? [Refrain]
TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS, by Louisa M.R. Stead
1 ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
and to take him at his word;
just to rest upon his promise,
and to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”
Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!
2 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
just to trust his cleansing blood;
and in simple faith to plunge me
neath the healing, cleansing flood! [Refrain]
3 Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
just from sin and self to cease;
just from Jesus simply taking
life and rest, and joy and peace. [Refrain]
Reruns are fine. We love her playing for us. We are praying for her. Thanks.
‘Just as I Am’ brings back so many good memories of my years growing up in Michigan! ?
My Uncle Buggy (Yes! Even his wife, my Aunt Stella Jane, called him ‘Buggy’!) His given name was Arthur, aka Art, but he was always Uncle Buggy to ME! I thought that was his real name for the longest time! ?
Anyway, he was the Pastor of a small church called Daniel’s Band and they used to have Summer Camp on the Campgrounds the Church owned in my Hometown of Beaverton, Michigan.
Every time there was an Invitation to come forward after a Sermon, or whatever else was going on, ‘Just As I Am’ was ALWAYS played! Standard procedure, you could say! ?
Plus, it was often played, for the same reason, at the United Methodist Church I grew up in. AND, at Camp Meeting every Summer in Eaton Rapids, Michigan.
Long explanation for what me hearing Gracie play this song brings back to me, but there ya go!
Thank you Gracie! ?
